Rope Pendant Light

I have always loved the look of clustered pendant lights.  It creates unexpected layers and a beautiful glow when the space is dark.  When I saw this room for 4-year-old triplets, designed by the Novogratz, I can’t help but notice the colorful rope pendant lights hanging over the custom-built desk.  It is such a fun way to add a pop of color to the space.

Restoration Hardware Lighting

I received the new Restoration Hardware Fall 2011 source book few days ago and I have to say I am really impressed with their new lighting collection.  Below are some of my favorites.

How fabulous are these Edison-style filament bulbs Pendants?  I would hang a bunch of them over a dining table and/or a kitchen counter.  And I just have to say I love, LOVE, a vintage looking black metal chandelier.

Deer Head on the Wall

Truth be told, I have always found the hunting lodge style to be too masculine for my taste, and my eyes can never stop staring (back) at the taxidermy displayed on the wall.  But for some reason when I saw this deer head on Sebastian’s lovely white nursery wall, I no longer feel goose bumps creeping on my arms.  Instead it brings a sense of whimsy and playfulness to the room.

Black and White Bathrooms

Sure, blue green and white hues are perfect for bathrooms.  But wouldn’t you rather have a bathroom with drama and makes a bold statement?  Here are some black and white bathroom ideas. They are very easy to achieve but allows for maximum impact.  I think it will be especially great for a powder room.  Go ahead and surprise your guests a little (or a lot).

Design Crush – Mirror with an edge

Not all bathrooms are big enough to have endless counter space.  I came across this image of a bathroom that uses a mirror with a shelf-like edge to store bath products.  It is such a clever way to create shelving space in a smaller bathroom.

Reusable Shopping Bags

I think it is beyond great that grocery stores no longer give out plastic bags to their customers (at least in California).  This is a really big help for our environment since most plastic bags end up as litter on city streets, clog storm drains, harm wildlife, and pollute  the ocean.  I found these reusable shopping bags that are cute enough that you will want to make daily trips to the grocery store.
